This fantasy style kirtle has a rounded, wide neckline, a back lacing bodice and laced sleeves. Perfect for people who want to play elves, princesses, or elegant enchantresses. It’s also basically the same as wizards robes, though they would normally lack the lacing. You could also swap the back lacing for more historically accurate spiral lacing or a belt if you wanted to make it your own.
It’s not going to pass for historically accurate (the princess seams over the bust kind of give it away as post-victorian) but anyone being that picky better have a good reason for it. Personally, I would love to see it made with those side panels out of a contrasting fabric, or maybe a heavily embroidered/patterned one? Either way I think this is a really fun dress.
