So Mood was being pretty transparent with where they got the idea for this dress! But it does a decent job. So if you need a size-inclusive, free Regency ballgown, this is probably everything you are going to need. But maybe leave the sequins for the more fantasy-based events?
And I say ballgown because, despite what the show would have you believe, most women wore long sleeves during the day and saved the short sleeves for evening. One popular option at the time was to make a dress with two sets of sleeves, that way you could wear one set during the day and the others for parties. The easiest way to do this would be to make the puffed sleeves as they are, but make them a little bit wider at the end and put in some button holes. Then you can make a second pair of sleeves that go up to the overlap and stick a pair of corresponding buttons onto the top of your long sleeves so that they will attach.
